a lot of this depends on your natural color. heres some hints.

1 golden anything has a orange base to it

2 haircolors are rated on levels 1 being darkest and 10 being lightest.

3 you are crazy if you color your hair at home without some knowledge of color theory, or previous experience.

4 decide to go ahead? i just hope you are one of my clients, I charge a small fortune for color correction!!!

A lot of times when you go from brown to blond, the first time you only strip away the black pigment and leave a lot of red pigment. The second time you do it, it strips away the red.

That's why peole with black hair end up with orange hair. Another treatment would strip away the red.

In other words, you may have to do it twice to get the true color you want. Of course, that damages your hair, so if the first treatment isn't bad, then just wait a couple of weeks to reapply.

I know you don't want to hear this, but it depends on what your current hair color is. If your hair is currently blonde, red, or light brown then it will be the light blonde. If your hair is black, or dark brown you will probably end up with golden brown or lighter brown. The best thing to do is let a professional color your hair because if you lighten your hair at home and you make a mistake you can end up feeling very uncomfortable. Not to mention most hair dressers try to charge you more money to repair your color damaged hair.
