Well there isn't much you can do but wait it out a couple of days and a couple of shampoos later. If you want to try to get it out a little faster then use dish soap. It will make your hair feel like straw but it does help color strip off faster. If your going to put color on it again then I would wait at least a week. Also next time don't get a color with violet, ash,or blue tones in it cause it doesn't come out very pretty on highlighted hair. Hope this helps:)

Ask a professional colorist. They are usually very good at fixing bad home dye jobs.

Feel better!

I did the exact same, except I had no highlights. It's got a purple tint to it. All my hair was purple, actually. And it'll wash out. It's very very temporary. It was in my hair for maybe a week. So just live with it for a bit, and it should come out.

The base color of black is almost like a dark dark blue purple. Because your highlights where lighter and probably more damaged from the highlighting they grabbed more color. You have two shades in your hair so you can't expect them to take the color and look the same.

You can continue to wash your hair - use a volumising shampoo as it opens the hair shaft and might encourage fading but I really don't think you will get out all of the purple. I think you should call the salon or you can take a chance and try to color it again as the highlighted shaft is a bit darker now it may (or may not) take the second color application better.

Tough to say without seeing it.
