Help hair dying!?

How do I convince my mom to let me temporarily dye my hair? I have almost black hair it's not black but it looks like it unless I'm in good lighting. I want to dye it a dark brown that's actually brown not almost black. Right know it's red tinted from some hydrogen peroxide, but I either need a natural way other than lemon juice or peroxide or I need a way to convince my mom to let me use loreal color pulse. Help what do I do!? (all the lemon juice and peroxide turn my hair a brassy-red color that is too orangy for me I want deep brown hair!! )

I had the same problem last year. My mom wouldn't let me do it at first but i made "research" to convince her to let me.

First of all, Loreal is a trusted brand and it will wash out in 8-10 shampoos. (i actually thinks its more like 5 or 7)

Second, you're not dying your hair pink or bright red.

Third, the color pulse only gives you a tint of the color and it smells great

I'm sure your mom has wanted to or has dyed her hair before and will understand if you want to experiment with your look. It also helps if you have a friend try it with you. I'm sure your mom would not want to keep you from doing something you really want to. Put in a good effort, and it will show

...also the lemon juice and peroxide does a lot damage to your hair. you're better off with color pulse (it makes your hair really soft)

in order to go with a lighter color with such dark hair, you would have to strip it. and that is harsh...i have dark hair myself. i wanted to go lighter, thus the stripper was put on then they had to add pigment again(red), then the color, i was going to suggest one of those over the counter 6 week colors that stay in your hair for 6 weeks, but using a lighter color wont do the trick. sorry

Ok, first off..you can't lift color with color. That means that you can't dye your dark hair a lighter color. You can't temporarily dye your hair a lighter shade, you HAVE to get it lightened first (bleached).

Second thing, the reason your hair is turning brassy is because it has red undertones, if you go to a stylist, she is going to have to know this because she is going to have to put a violet corrector in the toner to cancel out the brassiness.

Third thing, you can't go even a shade lighter with hair that dark without having it lightened first, you can't lift color with color, and your hair is already messed up because of the peroxide, so the thing to do now is to convince your mom to take you to a stylist. Although, the darker shades of Color Pulse will work on your hair, but you don't want it dark. :) And if you convince your mom to take you to a salon, tell the stylist everything you have done to you hair, it will help in the long run! :)

You can't lift such a dark haircolor by using semi-permanent color. All you can do is use bleach to lift WAY up, or a permanent color to lift it up to 3 levels (to brown).

I think you need to either save up the money to get a pro to do it, or forget it.

Color Pulse mousse won't do much of anything on your hair, it really only works on light hair for coloring, or very very subtle highlights on dark hair.

Even if you want to use a temporary color to achieve what you want, you will still have to lighten your own hair which can damage it. Even if it doesn't damage it, you will have to continue to color it, especially using a temporary, you will never know when 'this is the last wash I have great color' because it gradually goes away. In order to have this color you will HAVE to lighten your hair and since that isn't temporary, you may want to think of something else you may like. If mom agrees to letting you strip your hair, you may as well discuss a permenant dye and keeping it current.

if your mother permits try goignn to sally's and purchase a high lift tint...this has some sripping action but is less damaging to the hair as bleach....but why not have it foiled and do some highlights...less damage and less roots will be noticed
