Yes! This same thing has happend to me more than once. What I recommend is dying your hair again with an ash shade. That will tone down the red.

If that takes out too much red for you, you could try dying it light reddish brown. I've done both light and medium reddish brown, and for some reason the medium has a lot more red than the light.

Good luck!

honestly? The best way to pull color out of your hair is to use the exact opposite color on the color wheel. In this case it would unfortunatly be blue. They can help you if you go to an actual store that sells only hair care products.

There are a couple of reasons why this may have happened, but you've ended up with "brassy" tones instead of "ashey" tones.

First, try shampooing it with a shampoo that doesn't contain conditioners (like a clarifying shampoo).

If it's still too red after washing, don't do anything else you read on the internet -- call the L'Oreal help line!

The number will be listed on the site of the box or in the instructions. Tell them the color of your hair, the hair coloring you used, and they will be able to tell you how to fix it. It might be as simple as a toner shampoo or you might need to recolor. Either way, the help line can tell you exactly what you need to do to get the result you want.

Don't worry that they might think you're silly -- things like this are exactly what those help lines are for. They know the products and can help you fix your specific issue.

Good luck!

Don't panic!

Red is the largest color molecule and should tone down easily.

I recommend 10% volume cream peroxide for this procedure.

Use a two to one ratio of shampoo and lightener.

2oz's of shampoo and 1oz of lightener.

Shampoo for only a few minutes and rinse well then allow your hair to dry.

All colors look darker when wet.

DO NOT use heat on your hair to dry it.

If you're in a hurry set your hair dryer to the COOL setting. Apply a conditioner when done.

Use no more than two applications as the lightener can damage your hair.

Once dry see if you want to do it again.

you have to put a semi permanent color over it , thats a natural color , use more of an ash tone to get rid of the red and make sure you get it through your whole head so you dont have 2 different colors .
