about 30mins. i keep it in, until it starts burning, which i dont recommend but just my preference.

It depends on how hard your hair is to color. If it takes the color easily, then usually about 15-20 minutes is enough. If it's more stubborn or you're covering a lot of grey, then 30-40 minutes is normal. You should do a strand test before coloring all of it so you know how long it'll take.
