I have about two or three inches of my natural color grown out and wonder what would happen if I stripped out all the black. What if it mixes in with my "roots"? What if it touches my scalp? I bought that Loreal Hair dye removal kit but I'm not sure if it's gonna work out. Gonna try it tomorrow morning with my friend playing hair stylist. We are gonna dye over it that same day. I know it's crazy but I'm a college student with Noooooo money for a pro job! Will it work? I have about 4 layers of black hair dye in there! Will the Strip job with the remover work out okay?
I dyed my hair black more than a year ago and am too impatient to let it grow out and cut out the black...?
I have no idea...but you can try laundry detergent. It worked for me. :]

After you do that all I can say is deep condition the fcuk out of it your hair will be so dry! Also don't use any blow dryers, curling irons or anything like that on your hair for a while.

It'll be fine. If it doesn't strip all the black out, just buy another box of it.
Color remover is seriously my best friend haha.

When it comes to you hair and color, I firmly believe you should let a professional take care of it. You don't want to take any chances of ruining your hair or it's texture. Find out how much a really good color specialist will charge to take the black out. Save until you can do that and don't mess with it yourself. I realize you are a college student, but I truly think it's worth the wait. One suggestion would be going to a beauty college if there is one close by. They are so much more affordable.

I had the same situation a few months ago.what you need to do is go to a salon and let them do it.if not then you can seriously damage your hair or make it turn a nasty orange shade.I understand you dont have a lot of money but try going to a academy to get it done.Like for example I went to the Toni %26amp;Guy school where the students in training are.It is way cheaper than the actual Toni%26amp;Guy salon.Or Paul Mitchell has a school too.

IT WILL NOT STRIP OUT THE BLACK... MY MOM OWNS A SALON AND CHARGES 150.00 HR TO STRIP OUT BLACK! AND IT TAKES A MIN. OF 3 HOURS.. PLUS YOU CANNOT RE-DIE YOUR HAIR THE SAME DAY YOUR HAIR WILL NOT HOLD COLOR... TO GET OUT BLACK YOU HAVE TO STRIP ALL THE PIGMENT OUT OF YOUR HAIR WHICH BASICALLY MAKES IT STRAW NOW IF YOU HAVE REALLY STRONG HAIR IT MAY HOLD A LIGHT BROWN AFTER STRIPPING IT... BUT IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR HAIR TO BREAK OFF AND LOOK LIKE **** YOU MUST GO TO A SALON OR JUST LET IT GROW OUT!! THOSE ARE YOUR ONLY CHOICES... AND BY THE WAY DONT EVER ****** USE BLACK AGAIN!!!!!

OH PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not do that it will turn orange and good luck dying over the ucky orange that it comes out to be also you may damage your hair so bad it breaks off LIKE ALL OF IT that is black and you will still not have the outcome you want.
Go to a beauty school it is cheaper

I agree with KoolKat.
Nothing really good comes out of stripping the color out of your hair especially if it has been chemically treated that many times. Coloring over it will not really solve the problem either since black would be very hard to lift out of there.

Try to keep the remover just on the black dyed hair until it has enough time to totally process, it takes time so be patient. It has about seven stages to go through depending on the colour you want to end up with you have to decide before you apply the remover. For example if you are going for your natural hair color you have to lighten up to that level or lighter then color it after so it will look good and not too brassy. Its complicated. good luck!
